Click to expand.I have not heard that. In fact I have heard just the opposite. It is my understanding that modern video cards in PC games are not CPU limited. Overclocking the CPU has very little real world benefit.
I have also heard that games hardly take advantage of two processing cores. Let alone four. So, I just went for cheap clock-rate and I think it will turn out fine. I am building a mini-itx system with a video card that is known for being hot. Let it be the only thing in there that makes excessive heat.
